The University of Agder holds an annual European Integration Summer School, and in 2013 the summer school will take place between June 24th and August 7th.
As education is also becoming increasingly an issue to study in European integration, the summer school is focused on a topic of relevance for master students in the field of higher education. In addition, there is a strong methodological focus
The summer school is has a reputable list of lecturers, including Derek Beach (University of Aarhus), Theofanis Exadaktylos (University of Surrey), David Howarth (University of Luxembourg), Claudio Radaelli (University of Exeter and UiA), Christilla Roederer-Rynning (University of Southern Denmark), Frank Schimmelfennig (ETH Zürich) and Michael Shackleton (University of Maastricht).
The summer school offers two courses on Master level:
History, Institutions and Policies of European Integration (June 24—July 12)
- Methods in European Studies I: Process Tracing
- The Path Toward European Union
- The Political System of the European Union
- Policy-Making and Policies in the European Union
The European Union in the World (July 17—August 7)
- Methods in European Studies II: Research Design and Europeanization
- Europeanization in EU Foreign Policy
- Institutionalizing the European External Action Service (EEAS)
- Differentiated Integration and the Future of Europe
- The EU and Norway
